She was found pregnant and starving in the woods. She was fostered (through Victoria Humane Society) in the Cowichan Valley and gave birth to 8 pups on May 21st, 2018. We adopted her once the pups were weaned. Anything else you'd like to add: Arwen is the kindest, gentle, sweet dog who loves her forever family. She loves going on walks with my kids and their friends - the more the merrier. Arwen was very anxious and unsettled when we adopted her. She spent the first night with my finger in her mouth as a way to soothe herself, I guess. And she always come under the blanket for comfort. This trust is so, so touching. We love her. Session notes: I first met Arwen back in June 2018 - just a couple weeks after she'd given birth. She was such a happy dog and was very attentive to her puppies. It's so cool to see Arwen finally getting to enjoy being not just a dog, but a young dog. I've been out with her on a couple forest walks and she just runs and goes and plays and is so incredibly happy. It's heartbreaking that someone thought it was ok to just release her to fend for herself in the wilds of the NWT and it's remarkable that she survived out in the woods. But she did. She's strong and a survivor. And is now enjoying life to the fullest. When Arwen arrived at the studio she waltzed right in and had a good sniff around. During the session there was time out so she could play - somewhat awkwardly - with a couple stuffies. It was ridiculously cute. Check out one of Arwen's pups, Kepler too! |
