Name: Grey-Grey
Age: 12 years, female Weight: 48 lbs Breed/Mix: Husky/Coyote (according to former mushers/handlers) Sled dog name: Grey Age at adoption: 7 years Adopted from: SPCA Coat - single/double: double Likes: food, love & attention, people in general Dislikes: puppies, young rambunctious dogs Sleeping locations: at night - on her dog bed; during the day, the couch Off-leash time: yes, lots Escaped or lost?: Took her 2.5 years before we could let her off-leash. She would run for the truck. Siblings: unknown Medical conditions: mammary tumour, cancerous, but no signs of it now Spayed/Neutered at adoption: yes Known history: Came from Hans Gatt kennel in the Yukon then sold to kennel in Whistler Anything else you'd like to add: Grey is a gentle leader of our pack of three. She is patient (except with puppies). Not much rattles her. She is not nervous or afraid. She is very trusting and just wants to be loved. She has a quirky side and often gets the zoomies in the house, running and sliding on rugs and banging into furniture. When playful, she chin ‘nips’ and soft bites. Eyes go black and ears go back. She’s a nut. Session notes: GreyGrey was so comfortable during her session - totally evident that she's got a confidence that a lot of sleddies lack - maybe it's the coyote in her...? She was also very food motivated which is why you see her mom's hand holding the treat! I met GreyGrey back in 2012 - she came in with a group of 'old lady' sleddies - there wasn't anything old about her then, and there doesn't seem to be these days either... Grey is a survivor of the 2010 Whistler sled dog cull. Grey Grey passed away November 2018. |
