Weight: 20 kg
Breed/Mix: Saluki, Husky
Sled dog name: Raima
Age at adoption: around 4 years
Adopted from: Victoria Humane Society, started fostering August 2015, adopted him October 2015
Coat - single/double: double, light undercoat

Dislikes: vacuum, bouncing balls, skateboards, barking dogs (especially little ones), loud children
Sleeping locations: my bed
Off-leash time: yes, daily
Escaped or lost?: escaped once - during his 1st week in foster with me - he returned on his own in 15 mins. Has run away off leash when fearful but has always returned.
Siblings: unknown
Medical conditions: Allergies/Asthma - he had asthma when I adopted him - it’s affected by his allergies and was very sick and thin (15 kg)
Spayed/Neutered at adoption: yes
Known history: Iowa to Whistler
Anything else you'd like to add: Jasper has had a huge transformation from fearful to a playful puppy - but he still very much struggles with living in a house.

Session notes:
When I met Jasper early on he was such a fearful dog. Then I didn't see him for a while. When I saw him next on a walk with some other sleddies in December 2016 while in Whistler to see the premier of Sled Dogs, the documentary, Jasper had done a 180 degree turn.
He was loose and happy and zooming off leash - with his GPS collar on however.
When he came for his session, I saw his fearful self again. You'll see him looking back to the side - this was because there were THREE more sleddies of his sleddie buddies waiting in the wings on a sofa - so it was a bit of a distraction. We kept his leash attached so he wouldn't run back to the dog pile! (photos to come)
As you can read from his bio, he still has some issues, but the fact that he can go off leash and run around and be loose and happy is a pretty special thing.
