Session notes:
Luna couldn't have been more chill about the whole photo session. In fact she was so chill I decided to photograph her while she was laying on the sofa. And she is the only sleddie in this project [so far] who is standing straight on, not sideways, for her portrait against the wall! She would not stand sideways... ah well...
I met Luna in March 2012 at the Victoria SPCA - she was a lovely old girl then and she was just as lovely when I got to see her again. This time she was in foster with Lion and Nordique's human - her family situation had changed and they needed to re-home her so she was surrendered to the Victoria Humane Society and lived with her old Whistler kennel mates Lion and Nordique for a bit. She only lasted a short time in foster before she was adopted. When she came to my studio this day I took her outside to get some 'adopt me' photos and she said 'hi' to people walking down the street - it wasn't a bark, it was more of a 'i'd like to meet you and get some pets'. It was adorable.

Luna is a survivor of the 2010 Whistler sled dog cull.
Luna passed away May 10, 2022.
